Welcome to our website. We hope you will find it to be of interest. We are relatively new to the Shorthorn breed, therefore this site will be perpetually under development for the next few years.

Gerry & Betty at home.
Gerry and Betty Wyatt started McBeth Shorthorns in 2004 after many successful years raising Angus cattle under the herd name GBT Angus.
We decided to raise Shorthorn cattle because of the long and exciting history of the breed, the reputation for calving ease, fertility, growth ability, temperament and carcass quality, the increased acceptance of Shorthorn genetics by commercial cattlemen and the great people that are involved with the breed. We believe the Shorthorn time has arrived and we are very happy to have become part of it. Our first few years have been very productive and we look forward to enhancing our program.

Bob and his truck
marketing the Genetics Mall Site
Looking for a challenge and an opportunity to learn something new and exciting, Bob Riviere (our cousin) from Oakville, ON who retired after many years in the financial services industry decided to also raise Shorthorns. He now spends considerable time attending shows and sales, visiting farms, researching pedigrees and reviewing performance data. He enjoys meeting the people in the industry, learning about the history of Shorthorns and being part of the future.
Uluru Shorthorns was established to maintain a separate business identity for his investment. Hence the two herd names.
Bob has sponsored the web site “Canadian Shorthorn Genetics Mall” www.shorthorngenetics.com which is a site designed to assist our fellow Canadian Shorthorn breeders with marketing their Shorthorn genetics globally on a cost effective basis. Visit this site and should you have Shorthorn genetics for sale contact Bob to have them listed.
We welcome visitors to the farm to talk about Shorthorns and to view our herd. As time permits we will also present our product in the show ring.

Uluru Buster 6T, a bull calf raised by us is being shown in the US successfully.
He is now owned by Uluru Shorthorns, Hunt Farms and B-Good Livestock.
